Review of electromagnetic theory and transmission line fundamentals, Introduction to printed transmission lines. Introduction to Smith chart, Transmission Line Solutions Using the Smith Chart. Wireless System Architecture and Friis Transmission Equation. Radio Wave Propagation Mechanisms and Channel Impairments. High-frequency effects in RF components and circuits. S-parameters and RF network measurement techniques. Impedance matching methods and bandwidth optimization criteria. RF passive component characterization: T-junction divider and directional coupler. Microwave resonators - line resonator, Q-Factor, excitation. Ferrite devices: isolators, circulators, and phase shifters. Noise and nonlinearity in RF systems. RF Mixers and Amplifiers. Introduction to microwave systems and radar fundamentals.
